Adobe keyboard covers make editing projects much faster

Adobe Photoshop is not just the computer program you use to make a flier for an event anymore. It used to be used by designers only. Today, even grandma knows about Photoshop. She wants her grandbaby’s picture on a coffee mug and has to send the printer her jpg. Yep, she knows how to do it because her grandbaby taught her. The kids are into Photoshop too.

As Adobe continues to evolve their programs the commands change and new ones are always added. It’s hard to remember what to hold while simultaenously pressing the control key to make something happen. There are so many shortcuts it is impossible to remember them all.

The Adobe Keyboard Covers have all the shortcuts right there on the keys. I must admit, they look confusing at first. There are so many of them. It’s like a playing scrabble. You’re sitting their with your hands on your keyboard and none of the keys are just letters anymore. They are all filled with symbols and shortcode. The average person will be lost at first but when you get the hang of it, it becomes very useful.

Eventually, you won’t even need the keyboard cover because familiarity will set in. But, before then you’ll find yourself searching the keys to remember what goes with what. Adobe does have a complete list of the commands so you won’t have to try to remember them all but because we are human you’re going to try to remember them anyway. It’s just how we are. Only college students use the cheat sheet with pride!

The keyboard covers fit right on top of your keyboard (Microsoft Surface and Apple MacBook). You honestly do not feel the difference. It’s such a perfect fit you will more than likely leave it on even when you’re not using Adobe programs. There is a different keyboard for each program. So, if you’re one of those people, like me, who use Photoshop and Audition at the same time it may not benefit you unless you don’t mind switching the covers everytime you switch to use a different program.

I gotta give the designer credit, though. Teachers have long professed that students actually do more work when they feel they know what they are doing. Fractions are hard when you don’t understand what you’re doing. But, do you remember when they gave you homework and you had the little work book to go with the homework? They showed an example before they gave you equations to master. Well, that’s essentially what the keyboard covers do. It shows you the example on the keys. Once you get the hang of it you usually have no problem zipping right through your work. I find the Adobe keyboard covers very useful as well as essential in helping you edit your projects faster.

The covers aren’t too expensive. They are around $40 and worth every penny. The covers are available for Adobe Audition, Photoshop, Preimere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, and Illustrator. Order here.
