Can’t blame it on Beyonce if 59% of White Women in Texas voted for Cruz

News - Politics The Loop

The Queen was attacked on Twitter this week after Texas incumbent, Ted Cruz, was re-elected to the U.S. Senate.

Beyonce posted a picture of herself wearing a Beto O’Rouke hat to a Twitter feed. The Democratic Senate Candidate and his followers were appreciative of the support of Mrs. Carter but many of the Texas voters bashed her on Twitter for waiting so long to endorse him.

She didn’t post the endorsement picture until hours before the polls closed Tuesday night. Her post read: I’m feeling grateful for everyone before me who fought so hard to give us all the right to have a voice. We can’t voice our frustrations and complain about what’s wrong without voting and exercising our power to make it right. We need you. We all need each other, because when weare truly united we are unstoppable. Sending you all love and positivity on this happy voting day. Every vote counts. Every race matters. Everywhere.

Many Texas Democratic voters felt her post was necessary and needed but much too late. While many expressed their support for the Beyonce endorsement, the disappointed voices made themselves heard.

“Why did you wait so late,” one tweet read. “You have an influential voice and you wait until election day to drop this,” another one read. “Beto needed you sooner.” They just kept coming.

The Truth Hurts

However, the truth was revealed after the election returns were made public. 71% of White Men in Texas expectingly so, voted for Cruz. What was very surprising is the 59% of White Women in Texas who voted for Cruz. 95% of Black Women voted for Beto to only 4% voting for Cruz. 84% of Black Men voted for Beto. Only 16% of Black Men voted for Cruz. Beto even received 66% of the Latina vote.

These numbers prove a dispairing new trend in America. The majority of White Women in America will vote for Republican Men despite the inadequacy of the candidate. In 2016, Exit Poll numbers showed 52-53% of White Women voted for Trump.

Black Feminist Author, Tammy Winfrey Harris, made this statement after Trump won… “The triumph of President-elect Donald Trump represents the failure of many things. One of them is white feminism.

The Problem With White Women

Seems White Women will vote for a President who degrades women and will support anyone he endorses. It’s becoming evident that the majority of White Women in America will support the racist and male heiarchy agenda which is blatanly expressed throughout the Republican Party rather than support the moral coalition of White Women and Women of Color who stand together on the left.

Married White Women throughout the past have voted in concert with their husbands because the financial stability of their husbands benefited them. It benefited them to protect the pool of resources which sustained their households. Some experts have written that many progressive White Women still benefit from the economic systems which are place that deny opportunities to people of Color.

It gets even more divisive when many returns show White Women turn out even greater for a White Male candidate rather than support a Black Woman candidate. The CNN exit poll shows 75% of White Women in Georgia voted for Brian Kemp (R) in the recent Governor’s Race in which Stacey Abram (D) was close to being the state’s first Black female governor. That election is still incomplete but Kemp was on top after Tuesday’s Election Returns. CNN reported it was their largest demographic gap.

Beyonce may have certainly posted her endorsement for Beto a little too late but according to the consistent poll returns, Beyonce is not the problem. Her direct base is Women of Color. They overwhelmingly turned out for Beto. The real problem in Texas is that the majority of Texas White Women continue to make their voices clear… Separation feels better than Unity.
