Numbers 9:22 (NIV)
Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out.
The Cloud Covered Them
No matter where they were they realized the Cloud never left them. We must realize. No matter what we are going though – everything we need is in The Cloud. The Cloud today would be the Word of God.
The Cloud Led Them
The bible says when the cloud settled, they settled. When the cloud moved, they moved. We must make sure we are always moving with God. Not ahead of him.
The cloud assembled above the Ark of the Covenent. In the Ark was Manna (which represented Provision), Aaron’s Rod (which represented God’s leadership), and most importantly the Tablets which contained the Commandments (which represented God’s Disciplinary expectations of us.) The Cloud hovered above the Tabernacle of the Ark because it was God’s way of reminding them they had everything they needed.
The Cloud positioned them for God’s Provision
When they were hungry the Cloud led them to manna and fish. When they were thirsty the Cloud provided rain. It didn’t matter what they faced, as long as they saw the Cloud above them they knew God would make a way.
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
