There is a reason God doesn’t reveal everything to us at one time. We wouldn’t need to trust Him. I mean… imagine if you knew you were about to be fired today. You would go to work hot and ready to tell everybody a thing or two. Imagine if you knew you would be approved for a new car in two months. You’d stop paying the note on the car you’re driving now and probably wouldn’t even wash it anymore. For what? You already know you won’t even have it in 60 days!
This is exactly why God keeps us out of His loop. He doesn’t need us trying to tell Him how to run His business. Some days are exciting and some days are unexpectedly hard to balance. However your day goes, every day comes with new surprises.
We love surprises. It’s why we plan surprise parties. It’s why we hide gifts until a specific day of celebration. Most importantly, we hate it when someone ruins the surprise. Well, imagine how God feels when He sets up something new to surprise you tomorrow but you go investigating and looking for information that you don’t even need to know yet. He has prepared every day with new experiences to keep your life on track with His arrangement for your date with destiny. Each day comes with surprise blessings.
Every morning we back out of our driveway and we see the morning paper on our lawn. We don’t read the newspaper. We are a tech family. We prefer to read the daily news by app. But, they throw the paper in our yard anyway. It’s my job to pick the paper up everyday and throw them in the trash. Now, let me explain something. My dad owns a newspaper. So, I know how much it cost to print those things. We didn’t want to waste their company’s money so we called the local paper to tell them to take us off their paper route list. They informed me that the papers are already paid for. Everybody in the neighborhood gets them. So, every morning we wake up to the newspaper in our yard.
This week, a kid walking to his bus stop asked me, “Sir why do you have so many papers in your grass?” It never occurred to me that there were 4 newspapers still lying on the lawn. The kid asked, “Why do they keep giving it to you if you don’t want it?” My response shocked me as the words came out of my mouth. I told him, “It’s already paid for. It’s their job to give it to me even if I’m not excited to receive it.”
Each day you wake up, be excited. Christ has already paid for your mistakes when He died on the Cross. So, it doesn’t matter if you aren’t as successful as you’d like to be, pretty as you want to be, skinny as you think you need to be, or as perfect as you want your life to be. You get another try every day and you’re only alive because God still believes in you.
Make the best of each day and everything that comes with it. If you’re willing to trust God today, He just may surprise you!
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
