Why Am I Not Good Enough?

When you apply for a job the first thing you do is read the Job Description. That’s the little paragraph which tells you what you’re going to be doing if you are hired.

Everything created has a job to do. Trees were designed to give off Oxygen. The sun was designed to radiate plants and provide light. The womb is designed to incubate babies. From appliances to professions, everything has a job to do.

The Bible gives the specific job description of God but also for the Devil. It says (John 10:10) the enemy’s job is to kill, steal, and destroy.  Listen to that job description. The enemy is on the clock all day, ready to kill your self esteem… steal your happiness… and destroy any plan you have to prosper. When you look at yourself and focus on your flaws rather than your strengths it is not a sign that you are inadequate. It simply means the enemy is doing his job. He’s killing your self esteem and it’s working.

You are a spirit. You only have a name because we have to call that Spirit something while it exists in this earthly shell. When this shell dies you don’t die with it. Your spirit continues in another realm. So if you don’t like the way you look in your earthly shell… fix it. If you don’t like the job you are working… switch it. If you don’t like the city in which you live… move. If you don’t like the circle of people you entertain… change it.

You are good enough to God. I can honestly say this because God is not concerned with your weight, your hair style, your income, or how big your butt is. He sees you in the Spirit. That’s why the second part of that very verse says… ‘But I Am come that you may have life and have it more abundantly’. That’s God’s job description. If you operate in your Spirit you will be easily broken but if you operate in His Spirit He is strong enough to change how you view yourself and how you view the world around you.

Just imagine a spirit as a pair of glasses. With a regular pair of glasses you see everything as it is. If you put on a pair of 3D glasses you see things you wouldn’t normally see in a regular pair of glasses. That’s what the Holy Spirit does for you. He gives you the ability to see it all in a way you can’t see it with your regular eyes. When you look at your life through the eyes of the Holy Spirit you’ll instantly understand, you’re not half as bad as you think.

The enemy wants us all to feel empty. God wants us all filled with Joy and Love and Peace. The enemy wants us to see ourselves counted out and defeated. God wants us to feel included and victorious. Anytime you look at yourself and see something negative, just remember… the enemy is just doing his job.

John 10:10 (NKJV)

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
