Slidell Community to gather for Christmas Party at Ohana Pier Youth Center

On Saturday, December 22 at 6:30pm the Slidell Community will come together for Christmas Party with Live Music, Food, and Fellowship. The event will be hosted by Author and Life Coach, Ro Wright, with Pastor Greg Trumbach. Both men lead congregations which assemble weekly at the center and operate a youth program there throughout the week.

Ohana (which means Family) hosts nearly 200 teens every Friday and Saturday night. The young people play basketball, pool, dodge ball, dance, arts and crafts, and participate in weekly Bible Studies led by Pastor Trumbach. Youth Leaders of both churches partner to chapperone the teens along with other youth workers and coaches throughout the Slidell Community.

Pastor Trumbach and his wife welcomed Ro and Sandria Wright to their center earlier this year along with several other churches who support the vision. “Most people think Ohana is just a place where the kids hang out. We want people to see how beautiful this family of workers and youth really are and invite the community to celebrate the Holiday with us,” said Ro Wright, event co-ordinator.

Musical Guests include Soul Artists: Casme and Caren Green. The youth will love Christian Rappers: Favor, Rebirth Garcia, and Lyrical Minister. Community Leaders and Business Leaders have pledged to participate. A few of the young people will be honored for their commitment to the program throughout the year. There will be free food for all guests with no admission for guests.

If your family plans to attend, even though it’s a free event, you must RSVP. Call or Text 504.655.7155. It is the goal of the staff to make sure there are enough seats and food to provide a wonderful experience for all guests at Ohana Pier of Slidell.
